T The art of story telling (oral) narrative is as old as the ancient city of Katsina, where lived two famous saints (walis) Wali Danmarina and Wali Danmasani whose mysterious and mythical feats remain embedded in the oral tales of the people of Katsina. These narratives have been passed on (orally) from generation to generation. These narratives as told by the older members of the society to the younger ones aside from serving as a means of entertainment after a hard day’s work, equally serve the purpose of educating the upcoming generation about their cultural values and beliefs which serve as a mirror showcasing the norms, values and cultural heritage of the inhabitants of the ancient city of Katsina. This research work is a literal analyses of selected variants of the tales on Danmarina and Danmasani as they emanate from the narrators. The researcher equally looked at the various thematic concerns found in the tales. The tales of Danmarina and Danmasani are a unique component of the cultural values of Katsina people. The research concludes that there is indeed a relationship between the two saints Danmarina and Danmasani and also the functions as well as the import of the tales to the oral history of katsina
