Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study examined the sources of workplace stress, marital challenges and adjustment strategies of female lecturers in college of Education in North west zone, Nigeria Descriptive research design of the correlational type was adopted for the study. The population of the study was 1003 female lecturers . A sample of four hundred and forty 440 married female lecturers was arrived at using purposive sampling techniques. Four instruments were used for data collection namely:-the check list, Adopted version of Abubakar (2018) sources of workplace stress questionnaire. Researcher design marital challenges questionnaire, adopted version of adjustment strategies to workplace questionnaire by yusuf (2015.) A reliability coefficient of 0.76, 0.78, 0.75 respectively were found after using test re-test and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient statistics. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Regression Analysis was also used to analyze the research hypotheses. All the hypotheses were analyzed at 0.05 level of significance. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient was used to analyse Hypotheses 1. Hypotheses 2, &3, while Multiple Regression Analysis was used to analyse Hypothesis 4. Some of the major findings are that, there is positive significant relationship between sources of workplace stress and adjustment strategies of female lecturers in North West Zone of Nigeria, there is positive significant relationship between sources of workplace stress and marital challenges of female lecturers in north west zone of Nigeria. The conclusion from the findings is that, adjustment strategies are more related to sources of workplace stress. The study therefore recommended among others, having found marital challenges are more related to adjustment strategies than sources of workplace stress. Therefore couples school administrators should Pay more attention the adjustment strategies of female lectures. that, there should be adequate sensitization on sources of workplace stress and marital challenges.
