THEMATIC ANALYSIS OF TIV ORAL NARRATIVES: AN APPRAISAL OF TIMOTHY TERFA ADULE HYMNS

Abstract

This work x-rays thematic impact of Tiv oral narratives with emphasis on Christian hymns. The result of the findings show that Tiv oral narratives are thematically meaningful hence those themes dwelt so much on human life interaction and experiences. The findings further show that those themes (in the Tiv oral narratives analysed) have universal appeal worldwide irrespective of race, culture, religion, ethnicity etc. The work hereby brought to fore the critical role of poets in community upliftment in which nobody seems to indentify. The work thus becomes an appeal for the promotion of literature (poetic) studies in our country hence its value is enormous.
