This research work is a comparative study of adjectives in English and Yoruba language. The study tried to identify the forms and functions of adjectives in English and Yoruba on a comparative note. It also examined the distribution of adjectives in the two languages with a view to determining areas of similarity and contrast. This is done by taking into cognizance the forms and functions of adjectives in both languages. In particular, we examined the syntactic behavior of adjectives in English and Yoruba by taking into how they function attributively and predicatively.
