T Black beniseed (Hyptis spicigera belongs to the family Laminacae. It has been existing for more than 4,000 years ago.The aim of this research is to determine nutritive value of black beniseed (Hyptis spicigera) seeds and its oil. The Proximate composition were determined using the method describe by Association of official analytical chemist’s, while Carbohydrate were determined by difference. The dried tubers gave proximate values (%) of 20.56, 59.00, 4.25, 5.33, 3.50, and 11.61 for protein, fat, fibre, ash, moisture and carbohydrate, respectively. The extracted oil has a golden colour and a nutty taste. These results of amino acid content indicate that seed could be a good source of all essential and non essential amino acid needed.
