| dc.description.abstract | The present work investigated the effectiveness of teachers’ influence on the academic performance of students of Ayagi Day Secondary Schools Bida Local Government Area of Niger State with the objectives of identifying the factors influencing the working conditions of teachers, to examine the factors that affect teachers in terms of inadequate teaching and poor motivation of students, to proffer possible suggestion which help in the working condition of teachers and student academic performance, to establish mutual understanding between teachers and student, to provide feedbacks on student exams, and continues assessment which help in encouraging them to perform better in the academics and to determine how teachers code of conduct affect student academic performance. Stratified random sampling was used to select 50 students and 20 teachers out of the total population of the study using structured questionnaires as the instrument for data collection. The data collected were analyzed using simple percentages and presented in tables. The results of the analysis shows that teachers working conditions, inadequate equipment and other instructional materials influences, inadequate teaching and incomplete coverage of syllabus by teachers, constant change of subject teacher or transfer of teacher and teachers’ code of conduct and dressing significantly affect student academic performance in ADSS Bida. | |
