Abstract
This study is aimed to determine the Problems and Prospects of the Girl-child Education: A Case Study of Yauri Local Government Area, Kebbi State. It aimed to find out the parent’s level of qualification and how it affects girl’s child performance, to what extent parents allow their girls child to acquire western education and to what extent students go to school regularly and attend the lesson fully. The population of this study is covered with five (5) secondary schools, these are: Abarshi Secondary School Yauri, Government Day Secondary School Tondi Tsamiya, Makama Bawa Emirate School, Government Girls Science College, and Murtala Day Secondary School in Yauri local government kebbi state. Out of these five schools selected, one hundred (100) students were selected and issued questionnaire to form the sample of this study. The reliability of the instrument was determined by finding out the reliability index using test-retest technique. The instrument was given to other respondents outside the selected respondent for the main study.
