CULTURAL REFLECTION IN HAUSA FOLKTALES: A CASE STUDY OF SOME SELECTED HAUSA FOLKTALES

Abstract

This project titled; Cultural Reflection in Hausa Folktales. The study aim is to analyze Hausa Folktales, and how they reflect the Customs and Tradition of the Hausa Society as Portrayed in the tales.The first Chapter is the general introduction to the topic which introduces one to the background of the study, History of the Hausa Land, their Religion, Marriage, Occupation Economy, Research Problem, aim and objective then Research methodology. The second chapter deals with the literature Review while the chapter three is an introduction to research method and methodology. Meaning and different scholars view in Hausa folktale is introduced in chapter two. Story telling in the Hausa society, Techniques and Role of Hausa folktales is dealt with in the chapter two.Chapter Four is the data analysis where data collected is analyzed. Collected Hausa folktales which were translated originally from Hausa to English are analyzed explaining how they reflect the culture of the Hausa societywhile chapter five is the summary of the whole research.
