| dc.description.abstract | INTRODUCTION Curriculum reform in radiography education is essential to ensure that graduates acquire competencies relevant to modern radiographic practice. AIM This study assessed radiography students’ perception of the new curriculum and its relevance to modern radiographic practice in UDUS. MATERIALS AND METHOD A cross-sectional study design was adopted, using a structured questionnaire to collect data from undergraduate radiography students. The questionnaire evaluated students’ awareness of the new curriculum, perceived adequacy of course content, integration of modern imaging technologies, and its effectiveness in preparing students for clinical practice. The data obtained were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics, and presented in tables and charts. RESULTS The findings revealed that a majority of the students were aware of the new curriculum and perceived it as an improvement over the previous curriculum, particularly in terms of exposure to modern imaging modalities and skill development. However, some respondents identified challenges such as inadequate practical facilities and limited hands-on experience in certain specialized areas. CONCLUSION The study concludes that while the new curriculum is generally perceived as relevant and aligned with modern radiographic practice, further improvements in infrastructure, clinical training, and implementation strategies are necessary to maximize its effectiveness. It is therefore recommended that stakeholders invest in modern equipment and continuous curriculum evaluation to enhance radiography education and professional competence. | |
