| dc.description.abstract | Abstract Islam is a complete way of life which encompasses all aspects of one’s existence; his mode of worship, eating habits, how he acquires and disposes wealth, his attitude towards himself, his family and society at large and proper way to partake in irrigation system of farming. Irrigation therefore, is an artificial application of water to land for the purpose of farming activities in all seasons of the year. In this research, an attempt was made to study Bakolori Irrigation Project and its Social Impact on the Contemporary Muslims of Bakura, Maradun and Talata-Mafara Local Government Areas in Zamfara State. It is also Emphasized, in this research, that young generation should wake up to meet their needs, support others, and uplift the nation through irrigation system of farming rather than to be leech or parasite. It also encouraged its adherents to engage in seeking lawful means to make livelihood comfortable. More so, it tends to highlight the benefits drawn by the farmers of the study areas from this irrigation system of farming. Similarly, implication of not fully involved in irrigation scheme may render the farmers of the study areas in producing in sufficient food. The study has equally revealed method of Irrigation system of farming adopted during the life time of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), some of his Sahabah (R.A) and even some parts of the Muslim world and how emphasis was given to the irrigation system of farming. Sadly, for a decade, farmers of the study areas were faced with lots of challenges expecting government assistance and intervention, private sectors, elites and non governmental organizations (N.G.O’s) to invest in agriculture and related Agro allied, such as pesticides; insecticides, fertilizers, improve varieties and also support them (Farmers) with soft loans to improve the standard of farming activities in the study areas, but nothing yet. | |
