IMPACT OF MOBILE PHONE USAGE ON STUDENTS IN LEARNING ECONOMICS A CASE STUDY OF USMANU DANFODIYO UNIVERSITY, SOKOTO.

Abstract

This study was conducted to find out the Impact of Mobile Phone in learning Economics among Students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. The purpose of the study is to identify the impact of Mobile Phone in learning Economics among Students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. The research design of the study was simple random sampling. The population of the study was three hundred (300) students in the department of economics. Fifty (50) students were sampled in two (2) levels of the department. The instrument used for data collection was structured questionnaires. Data collected were presented in a tabular form, mean and frequency distributions were used to analyze the data. The findings show that impact of mobile phone in learning economics among students of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto are more reliable and efficient for usage by the students of the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. Based on the findings some recommendations were also given thus employment of more trained teachers and students to be able to access the University LMS via their mobile devices so as to make it possible and easier accessible for those who wants to be onto the ICT world of education by accessing.
