Abstract
This study examines the utilization of information resources and services among users for effective service delivery in Abdullahi Fodiyo Library, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto. The objectives of the study was to assess the level of utilization of the information resources among users, assess the level of utilization of the information services among users,to find out problems experienced among users in utilizing the library resources and servicesand measures for improved library resources and services. The study employed a descriptive survey design. The study population consisted of 63 users from the library and was used for data collection. After administering the questionnaire, the return rate was 57 and therefore used for data analysis using frequency and percentages at 50% accepted average. Findings revealed that users are highly utilizing information resources and services. However, the study found that poor electricity power supply, lack of robust internet connectivity, inadequate ICT skilled librarians, etc. were among the factors militating against effective utilization of resources and services in the library. The researcher recommended that library management should organize training programme on ICT skills for librarians, library management should provide robust internet connectivity which will enable users in accessing electronic information resources and services, library management should provide alternative power supply such as generator, solar, inverter to supplement electricity power supply.
