Abstract

This study examined the ethnobotanical use of medicinal plants for the treatment of ulcer in Bodinga Local Government Area. The main aim was to identify the common plants used, their preparation methods, and perceived effectiveness. A descriptive survey design was adopted, and data were collected from fifty (50) respondents using structuredquestionnaires. The results showed that 90% of respondents were aware of medicinal plants used for ulcer treatment. The most frequently mentioned species were Aloe vera, Neem leaves, and Moringa. Boiling was the most common preparation method, and half of the respondents rated the remedies as highly effective. The study concludes that traditional medicine plays an important role in managing ulcer in Bodinga and recommends documentation, scientific validation, and conservation of these medicinal plants
