| dc.description.abstract | Proximate analysis was investigated to determine the moisture, ash, total solid and volatile solid. Slurries were prepared by thoroughly mixing 100g of the sample with 500ml distilled water. Proximate analysis results: Moisture content, substrate A,B and C had a moisture content of 5.30%,4.20% and 4.10% respectively before digestion after digestion moisture content became 7.2%,3,4% and 3.2% respectively ,moisture content of substrate A increased by 1.9% while that of substrate B and C decreased by 0.8 and 0.9 respectively. Ash content of the substrate before digestion were 22.10%,20.50% and 20.20% respectively after digestion ash content was 19.10%,18.10% and 17.20% respectively, there was no significant difference except for substrate A. Total solid before digestion were 98.83%,95.66% and 96.84% respectively, after digestion total solid became 80.59%,72.90% and 70.80%, there was significant difference of the total solid before and after digestion. The volatile solid before digestion were 66.23%,58.60% and 52.20% respectively. | |
