Abstract
This study investigated the problems and prospects of poultry farming and marketing in Sokoto State, Nigeria. The main objectives were to: identify the major problems faced by poultry farmers in the study area, examine the marketing channels available for poultry products, and assess the prospects of improving poultry farming and marketing for sustainable development. The research was guided by the following questions: What are the major challenges confronting poultry farmers? What marketing strategies are commonly used? What opportunities exist for enhancing poultry farming and marketing in the state?
The study population consisted of 50 respondents, purposively selected from poultry farmers and marketers within Sokoto State. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and interviews, and gh descriptive statistics.
